Our History

The concept of Carleton Manor Inc. originated with the Woodstock Rotary Club in 1967.  The first Carleton Manor became a reality in July 1970, opening its doors to a bed capacity of 63 on the Elizabeth Street location.  Several years later, the Manor was expanded to accommodate 93 neighbours, later reducing to 80.  This facility served the community's needs for many years.  But as needs change and modernization is required, the old Carleton Manor was replaced with a new facility in January 2007 on the present site of 130 Burtt Street.  In 2016 an additional 30 bed wing was built.

At present Carleton Manor offers 89 private rooms, 10 double rooms plus a private room for Relief Care/Respite.  We have five large lounge areas and a beautiful external courtyard which offers many opportunities for socialization of neighbours, families and friends, whether it is for special occasions in the life of the family or a simple tea-time gathering.  Other special attractions include a solarium, a library and a live fish tank.
